Holding on

Grasping that last thread,

Trying to hold on.

The once strong rope has unraveled,

Yet holding to what is left.

Watching, crying,

Trying to hold on.

As the thread frays,

Knowing it wont be long.

Falling, screaming,

Yet still holding on.

To a frayed broken string,

That once was a strong rope.

Letting go of what’s left,

Knowing it wasn’t meant to be.

Nothing left to even grasp,

Wondering what may now be.
