The vase

Posted by Tricia Douglas on January 16, 2010 at 12:41 AM

She bends down to pick up,

The pieces big and small.

The vase she once treasured ,

Now shattered in the fall.

On the table she places,

The pieces with care.

In attempt to mend,

This vase so rare.

Yet she soon finds,

It will never be.

The vase she once loved,

So nice and neat.

It now is cracked,

Broken and shattered.

Pieces are missing,

It looks all battered.

Once set on the table,

All shinny and new.

Is now placed in a cabinet,

Hidden from view.
