Holding on

Grasping that last thread,

Trying to hold on.

The once strong rope has unraveled,

Yet holding to what is left.

Watching, crying,

Trying to hold on.

As the thread frays,

Knowing it wont be long.

Falling, screaming,

Yet still holding on.

To a frayed broken string,

That once was a strong rope.

Letting go of what’s left,

Knowing it wasn&...

Not an end but a chance for a new begining

The leaves must fall

The trees go bare

The cold dark days set in

Soon winter is everywhere

Suddenly new buds on the naked limbs

As the warmth comes in

Trees and flowers in beautiful bloom

Where there was nothing, new life appears

What may seem like an end, May just be a chance for a new begining. New life where the old has died

It may seem like there is no hope but around the...

The Mask

Pretending to be,

What others expect of me.

Trying my best to fit in,

And others approval win.

Hating what I have become,

Hiding behind this mask I have put on.

Yet so hard to remove,

Knowing others wouldn't approve.

Wanting at times to just run,

Go to where I know no one.

To where I can be free,

And learn to just be me.

But for now I continue to hide,

With a smile to cover wha...

The Avalanche

The Avalanche

It starts small, snow sliding down a hill

More snow is taken in and it gets bigger

Soon small trees are snapped from the base

The damage gets greater

Soon bigger trees even houses are taken in

Destroyed in such short time

Skiers are caught up before they can get away

At the base of the mountain one can see damage so great

What started off so small.

Not much to the eye

If you only knew

Posted by Tricia Douglas on February 6, 2010 at 4:56 PM Comments comments (0)

If you only knew

what was deep inside

you would turn away,

even as I cried

So I protect my heart

and push you away.

Hoping that doing it now,

can lessen the pain

Easier to be alone,

than to risk the hurt.

from others who don't understand

or know whats going on inside.

The vase

She bends down to pick up,

The pieces big and small.

The vase she once treasured ,

Now shattered in the fall.

On the table she places,

The pieces with care.

In attempt to mend,

This vase so rare.

Yet she soon finds,

It will never be.

The vase she once loved,

So nice and neat.

It now is cracked,

Broken and shattered.

Pieces are missing,

It looks all batt...

The path

The path is clear,

I can now see.

As I trek forward,

To my destiny.

The brush thickens,

The weeds grow tall.

The path though not so clear,

Yet I still follow.

Its getting darker,

As the sun hides her face.

The light of the moon though dim,

Guides me on my way.

It grows late,

The clouds hide the moon.

Though I now can not see,

I continue on my trek.

People all around,

yet still alone.

Afraid to open up,

and show whats inside.

Will people hate me,

or think me odd.

Will they even notice,

Wil they even care.

Why do I even worry,

about others think.

Why not just learn ,

to live and let things be.

This life is so s...

Searching for answers,

That seem so far away.

Wading through the fears,

Looking for the light of day.

Will the day ever come,

Will things ever be more clear.

Will even one ray of sun,

Out of the clouds appear.

Crying on the inside

Crying on the inside,

on the outsise i shed so few tears.

I wish I could just go hide,

is the end of this battle near.

My heart aches to see the day,

That I am free to live again.

That I can stand and say,

I have come through and I win.

Will that day ever come

or will I always live in dread and fear

Is to hope just being dumb

will there be an end to the tears.
